SOLUTIONS SESSIONS

8:00 AM - 9:00 AM / RECRUITING - TRANSFORMING TOMORROWS

Location: Grapevine 4-6
Presented by: Richard T. Cleary
Company: FSEdNet
Session Title: Recruiting – Transforming Tomorrows
Attire: Business

Session Description:

Recruiting has always been our top priority in growing a firm, unit or team. But it is so much more than just recruiting them – isn’t it about building their sales momentum by getting them off to a fast start and ultimately retaining them? There are three separate and distinct stages which we go through each time we recruit a new associate. Anyone who is responsible for recruiting and onboarding new talent, whether inexperienced or experienced, goes through each of these stages. But we don’t always recognize the importance of each individual stage and how to refine and enhance our process. Our bench strength, including our retention, will detail how effective each of your procedures is at each stage.

Our workshop will clearly define the three stages of recruiting successful agents/advisors, explaining the reason why, according to LIMRA, 87% of those who leave this profession do so. We’ll discuss what can be done to quickly and effectively correct this issue during the recruiting process.

Learn how to clearly differentiate the opportunities your organization presents from that of the competition by understanding what today’s recruits seek, as well as what commonly prevents them from reaching their potential.”

Speaker Bio:

Richard T. Cleary

Dick is the Founder and President of FSEdNet – Financial Services Educational Network, LLC, specializing in virtual video based training platforms which helps launch, retool and re-energize financial professionals, managers, associates and staff in the financial services industry.

Company: Jim Ruta Advisorcraft
Session Title: Recruiting I.C.O.N.s – How To Build With The Best
Attire: Business

Session Description:

Clients today expect the best so you need the best recruits to meet their needs. Using the unique “I.C.O.N. Recruiting Scorecard”, you will discover how to get past simple survivors to “best of class” recruits that will build your culture and accelerate your results. Icons are those advisors recognized as symbols of the best in the business – a rare breed, but the only selection target if you want to build with the best you can.

This session identifies the four core I.C.O.N. performance competencies of top producers and how to select for them in the recruiting process. You will also learn how to identify and check for compelling I.C.O.N. character traits so that you get the best combination of power and personality. When you aim for I.C.O.N. and you miss, your recruits will still be among the best. We will talk about what it takes to be an I.C.O.N. Recruiter, why you want to be one and how to do it in your market. As a bonus, I will show you how to “iconify” your existing recruits to give them the best chance of top performance.

Be sure to take advantage of this opportunity to earn about this all new approach to the most important part of agency building. It’s built on 40 years of field experience as an advisor, recruiter, executive manager of a 250 advisor agency and executive coach to top producers and agency leaders around the world. 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM / HOLISTIC PLANNING MADE SIMPLE

Location: Fort Worth 1/2
Presented by: Kyle J. Christensen, CFP
Company: Personal Financial Snapshot
Session Title: Holistic Planning Made Simple
Attire: Business

Session Description:

The DOL Rule, which has recently been rescinded, was intended to encourage all financial advisors to recommend what’s in the best interest of the client, and to base recommendations on a thorough understanding of the client’s situation. This is a great idea, and really should be happening with or without the DOL Rule. The day of an advisor simply selling a product without taking the time to understand the client’s situation is coming to a close. The DOL Rule’s head will pop up again for sure. And even if it doesn’t, wouldn’t you, as a manager, want your advisors and agents to base their recommendations on a holistic understanding of a client’s entire financial situation?

What are the benefits of a holistic view of a client’s situation? 1) Liability protection. 2) Increased sales – advisors will be able to see opportunities that they would have missed. They will discuss disability insurance (most advisors ignore this area of planning). Clients will feel that they aren’t being “sold”, but will feel the advisor took the time to understand them and their situation. 3) Much better referrals. 4) Agent retention/long-term success. Wouldn’t you love to have a financial planning system that is easy for your advisors to follow, easy for clients to understand, creates an educational process for the client instead of a sales pitch, and produces maximum levels of life and disability insurance coverage instead of minimum? If you say yes to this, DON’T MISS OUT ON THIS SESSION.

Speaker Bio:

Kyle J. Christensen

Kyle has been in the insurance and financial planning business since 1999. Graduated from Utah State University. Kyle is married and has three daughters. He celebrates 21 years of marriage this year and currently lives in San Antonio, TX. He is a Certified Financial Planner™. He has run his own financial planning practice since 2004.

His financial planning practice is mainly focused on life, disability, and property and casualty insurance, as well as annuities. Kyle has produced at club level consistently for more than 17 years. His desire in creating Personal Financial Snapshot was for use in his own practice. However, he has seen that the insurance industry as a whole has very few quality uncomplicated options for financial planning software and systems, and feels that thousands of agents and agencies across the country could benefit greatly from a simpler more intuitive system.

It is the mindset you bring to your business and your role as a leader.

GAMA International created the First in Class Award in 2000 to recognize first-line leaders in the insurance, investment, and financial services industry who have led their agencies or firms to the number one position in their company during the preceding year. Recipients are nominated by their home offices, and each company determines the criteria it will use to select its nominee. Multiple nominees may be eligible for companies that segment distribution by market size or use a benchmark value proposition for their distribution systems. Companies are urged to nominate field leaders who excel as leaders in both their careers and their communities.

The Frontline Excellence Award, which debuted in 2010, recognizes field leaders who have shown exemplary performance in their current frontline positions and are considered to be emerging leaders in their companies. The award is named after the late Brian Early of Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company, an especially active GAMA member who had a powerful passion for helping emerging leaders grow and develop, and helped create the association’s Leaders of Today and Tomorrow (LoTT). THOUGHT LEADER SESSIONS

8:00 AM - 9:00 AM / ARE YOU BREAKING THROUGH THE WHITE NOISE BY LEVERAGING TECHNOLOGY AND SOCIAL MEDIA?

Location: Dallas 5-7
Presented by: Eszylfie Taylor
Session Title: Are You Breaking Through The White Noise By Leveraging Social Media?
Attire: Business

Session Description:

Technology allows us to get access to information, but the advisors need a way to initiate action for the client on a relatable level. In this presentation, I will share how to create authentic relationships with clients and to stand apart from ‘internet information overload’ by avoiding over-complication and effectively relaying value propositions.

I will show exactly how I built a multi-million dollar practice by harnessing my relationships and using the internet (social media) to my advantage, as well as how your advisors can achieve the same. Stats fail, stories tell, and agents sell. I will teach advisors how to connect with clients using stories, transitioning from being a “salesperson” to a “facilitator,” which will allow for more favorable outcomes with clients. They will leave with language, process, and tips they can apply to their practice. “

Speaker Bio:

Eszylfie Taylor

Eszylfie Taylor is the founder and president of Taylor Insurance and Financial Services located in the financial district of Pasadena, California, and serves as financial advisor to individuals, business owners, and high net worth families. He attended Concordia University on a basketball scholarship and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management. Prior to founding his own company, he was a standout financial advisor at New York Life, making Chairman’s Council and finishing his career there as the highest producing advisor in the history of the African American market.

Early on in his career, Mr. Taylor had a breakthrough that centered around how to improve his market and focus on solving problems, not selling products. Naturally, he built upon this and used his successes and failures as teaching tools that would contribute to the start of The Taylor Method, a sales process for financial advisors.

Mr. Taylor has been a Million Dollar Round Table Top of the Table producer since 2011, which places him in the top 1% of advisors worldwide. In 2015, he was the recipient of NAIFA’s Advisor Today Top 4 Under Forty award.

Through all the success, Eszylfie has continued to contribute to his community. Since 2003, his nonprofit, Future Stars, has been hosting a basketball camp for underserved youth in the community, instilling in them the tools he uses to achieve success: hard work, perseverance, integrity, and sacrifice.

8:00 AM - 9:00 AM / ARE YOUR IN CONTROL? THE BUYER-SELLER DANCE

Location: Fort Worth 5-7
Presented by: Glenn Mattson
Session Title: Are You In Control? The Buyer-Seller Dance
Attire: Business

Session Description:

Are your advisors positioned to convert 80% or more of their presentations to business? The selling process can be challenging, especially when advisors don’t fully understand the nature of the relationship between buyers and sellers. You all have a strategy for developing sales opportunities, steps that usually start with a needs analysis which eventually leads to a presentation. And your prospects also have a strategy for controlling the buying opportunity and dealing with sales professionals. What happens when the two strategies collide? The advisors and their prospects “dance” around the sale making complementary moves. Whether they make the sale at the end of the dance is ultimately decided by who leads the dance. Don’t let your team be left standing alone on the “dance floor.” Join us for an enlightening view into the secrets of the buyer-seller relationship and why the traditional selling strategy doesn’t work. You will walk away with concepts and strategies that will enable advisors to take control of the selling process, to sell the way people buy and qualify prospects to sell more and sell more easily.

Session Description:

If you’re like most leaders, whether you’re in recruiting or production mode you’ve likely wondered, “How do I differentiate myself from my competition?” You know your competition is fierce and the marketplace is noisy.

To be the leader others want to follow and to avoid being seen as a commodity this question MUST be answered. Ironically many leaders are looking for answers in the wrong place. It won’t be found in new products or services but rather it lies within you!

What differentiates you from your competition is YOU; how you talk about what you do and more importantly WHY you do it. The most effective way to share your WHY is through a specific method of business storytelling.

Leading With Passion And Conviction In The Golden Age Of Human Financial Advice

We’ve arrived at a point in the financial services industry where the two components of our traditional value proposition – product and advice – have broken away from each other. The product has become a commodity: it’s useless, but it’s free. (Same with information.) Genuinely empathetic, tough-loving advice has become ever-more priceless, in that the complexities of modern financial life are insoluble by the consumer without such advice. Managers will continue to miss this, beset as they are by the illusion of “competition.” Leaders will rush to embrace it, seeing the opportunity for exactly what it is.

Dr. Daniel Crosby
Sponsored by: The Guardian

In The Behavioral Investor, psychologist and asset manager Dr. Daniel Crosby examines the sociological, neurological and psychological factors that influence our financial decisions and sets forth practical solutions for improving both returns and behavior. Participants will be treated to a comprehensive examination of investor behavior and will leave with concrete solutions for refining decision-making processes, increasing self-awareness and constraining the fatal flaws to which most investors are prone.
